Rodney Woodard: Taking Craft Beer From a Hobby to a Career

Rodney was born and raised in Texas, not in an area that had much craft beer either. However, through traveling with his career and inspiration from an uncle, he would learn about regional distinctions and differences in beer and become fascinated by the uniqueness that craft beer offered. This interest ultimately grew to the point he could no longer keep it on the side and made the leap to follow his passion and make it his career.
Rodney ultimately got the chance to study brewing science at Sacred Heart University through a scholarship supported by Athletic Brewing.
